This type of RFID installation is for a basic tracking system with no RTLS capability (Real Time Location System) in a multiple area setup. This basic information is typically "Item is in the area" or "Item has left the area".

An example of this setup would be if you had multiple buildings where you wished to track items. Each building would have its own reader. Each reader would send information to the collection and concentration process.

This configuration will provide notification that tagged items are in the building but will not tell you where they are inside the building.

The layout above shows the basic setup for a RFID system in multiple locations. This system includes:

• 1 RFID Reader PER building, depending on the size. Range for each reader is up to 1500 feet.
• 1 Collector PER location.
• 1 Concentrator. The Collector at each location will send infomation to a single Concentrator for the entire system.
• 1 RFID Server.
